Getting ready for a day on the Caribbean Sea is all about keeping things comfortable, casual, and sun-safe! Since you will be hopping in and out of the water, we recommend coming prepared with suitable clothing for a wet, breezy environment.
Here is our ultimate boat tour wardrobe checklist:
- Your Swimsuit (Already On!): We highly recommend wearing your bathing suit under your clothes when you arrive at the marina. It saves you the hassle of trying to change with limited privacy, and gets you into the water faster.
- A UV Rash Guard: Because we strictly enforce the marine park’s ban on chemical sunscreens, a long-sleeved, UV-protective swim shirt (rash guard) is your absolute best defence against the strong Cozumel sun. You may also find this more comfortable for the times where you need to wear your life vest during the tour.
- Light Cover-Ups: A breezy t-shirt, shorts, or a light beach cover-up is perfect for the boat ride to and from the reefs.
- Easy Footwear: Flip-flops, sandals, or water shoes are ideal. To keep the deck safe and clean, our crew will usually ask you to remove your shoes once onboard, so slip-on footwear makes this incredibly easy.
- Secure Accessories: Hats and polarized sunglasses are fantastic for cutting through the ocean glare, but please remember that our speedboats get incredibly windy! Make sure your hat fits tightly, and consider a neck strap for your sunglasses so they don’t end up at the bottom of the sea.
Pro-tip: Don’t forget to bring your own beach towel in your day bag, along with a dry change of clothes if you plan on exploring downtown Cozumel after your tour!
