Can I fly my drone on a tour?

At the time of writing, whilst it is legal for non-Mexican residents to operate bring and operate sub-250g drones on a recreational basis (i.e. not requiring registration with the relevant authorities), the laws surrounding drones are complex and constantly changing.

Currently, we would discourage guests from bringing a drone into Mexico, but if you do, make sure you research the laws and any pre-requisites thoroughly. There are also various areas of restricted airspace within Cozumel, some of which intersect with, or run close to, the routes of our various boat tours.

As a matter of health and safety, and to ensure compliance with local laws and customs, we will not allow a drone to be launched by any tour participant from one of our boats during the tour.
