As much as we would love to, we can never 100% guarantee a turtle sighting. The marine life in the Cozumel National Marine Park is completely wild and free-roaming, which means the animals operate on their own unpredictable schedules!
The Good News
While we cannot give an absolute guarantee, your chances of swimming with a sea turtle are incredibly high. Cozumel is home to a thriving turtle population – primarily Green Sea Turtles and Loggerheads – and they frequently feed and rest in the exact reef areas we visit on our tours.
Furthermore, our in-water guides are experts at spotting them. They know exactly where to look, and they have “eagle eyes” for finding wildlife that most guests would naturally swim right past!
What Else Will I See?
Even if the turtles decide to hide on the day of your tour, the reefs are teeming with life. You are almost certain to encounter massive schools of colorful tropical fish, vibrant coral formations, southern stingrays, and, of course, the famous giant starfish at the El Cielo sandbar.
Every single day on the water is a unique experience – which is what makes this tour so special!
