How eco-friendly are your tours?

We take environmental preservation incredibly seriously. We don’t just work in the Cozumel Reefs National Marine Park – we view ourselves as its temporary guardians.

Because we rely on the health of these stunning coral systems, we operate with a strict eco-conscious framework to ensure our impact is as minimal as possible.

Here are just some of the ways we protect our waters on every single tour:

  • Strict Sunscreen Policies: Chemical sunblocks are one of the leading causes of coral bleaching. We strictly enforce Cozumel’s marine park regulations by prohibiting the application of sunscreen onboard and actively educating our guests on using UV-rated rash vests instead.
  • Reduced-Plastic & Responsible Catering: We work hard to minimize single-use plastics onboard. While it’s not always possible to eliminate all packaging, the fresh snacks we serve – like our seasonal fruit, freshly made guacamole, and pico de gallo – are prepared using fresh, local ingredients, drastically reducing packaging waste. We collect and recycle all packaging waste generated onboard, and ask you also do your part when enjoying your tour with us.
  • Wildlife Respect & Strict No-Touch Policy: Our in-water guides are trained to enforce a strict “look but don’t touch” policy to sensitive marine life. We never allow guests to chase sea turtles or stand on live corals.
  • Eco-Compliant Boat Operations: Our captains are certified by CONANP (Mexico’s National Commission of Protected Natural Areas). Our expert boat captains do not use anchors or mooring lines on sensitive reefs to ensure they do not damage fragile coral structures.
  • Marine Park Fees: The mandatory federal marine park entrance fee funds vital conservation, monitoring, and reef-protection efforts right here in Cozumel.
  • GreenFins Member: The only internationally recognised environmental standards for marine tourism and its robust assessment system measures compliance.

When you book a tour with us, you are supporting a team that is genuinely invested in keeping Cozumel beautiful for generations to come.
