Yes, absolutely. Taxis are available at all the main arrival and departure points on the island, such as the cruise ship terminals, ferry terminals, and our tour departure point. You’ll also likely find taxis outside most of the main hotels and resorts, if needed.
Cozumel taxis are branded clearly in white and red, with a prominent ‘taxi’ sign. There is no need to prebook, and it’s often easier to flag one down. Rates vary depending on distance between zones. Expect to pay between 100 and 200 pesos each way per vehicle. Taxis in Cozumel do not use meters, so always confirm the price with the driver first.
Whilst a ‘tuk-tuk’ taxi service exists on the island (vehicles painted in red), they are currently prohibited from entering the road along the waterfront.
